I had so much fun yesterday that I couldn't resist doing more fan art. David Mckee's strange compositions, colours and weird trees really draw you into his world. I can see me doing the whole book when I get time :)
Every time my little Niece visits us, she insists on me reading her Not Now, Bernard. One of my favorite childhood books... I hope David McKee isn't too offended by my affectionate tribute! David McKee has been a big influence on my work over the years.
I've always been rubbish at drawing cars. I thought I'd see if there is a way to draw cars so badly that they look quite good! I also wanted to try to capture the look of car lights at night.
Thanks to my old mate Warwick letting me know about the Beck's music inspired art project, I whipped off my own design for the sleeve art to Sly and the family Stone's classic album. This was great fun to do, I'd recommend getting involved :) By the way - Warwick has done a fab version of Exile!
I was lucky enough to wake up the the email saying that I'm one of the editors choice's on the homepage of the rather groovy illustration mundo!! So here's a few celebratory birds I found time to doodle in between taking a drawing class today.
